The neighborhood of San Salvario in Torino and NoLo (North of Loreto) in Milan have been undergoing heavy transformations in recent years. Both historically characterized as immigration and multi-ethnic parts of the city, their reputation have always been stereotypically rough.
Now, gentrification and new initiatives are reshaping the identity of these two areas, where Italians and migrant communities live side by side - with tensions but also with surprising results.
